For many years people tended to avoid the almond because it was believed to be high in fat. But as we all now know, there are fats that are good and fats that are bad. Almonds contain the fats that are good for us and have many benefits such as fighting heart disease and cancer as well as aiding in weight loss.

Almonds are an excellent source of monounsaturated and polyunsaturated oils, protein, potassium, magnesium, calcium, iron, zinc, and vitamin E. They are a good source of antioxidant flavonoids.

Weight Loss – Studies show that those who add almonds to their daily diet have a lower Body Mass Index. This could be because they contain Monounsaturated fats (MUFAs) that prevents over eating.
Cancer Fighting – Almonds help fight against many kind of cancers due to their high amount of Vitamin E. Some of these include Prostate, Lung and Colon cancers.
High in Fibre – They are very high in fibre which help promotes regularity and fight constipation.
Heart Healthy and Lowers Blood Pressure – Almonds help to lower the risk of heart disease and heart attacks. They do this by lowering the LDL (or bad) cholesterol in the body by significant amounts.
