Hey this is a public forum, that is precisely what people do in a public forum, they comment and make various judgements so you can stop with all the nonsensical, philosophical fluff about “looking at yourselves first” and where do you get this rubbish about “yoga is about non judgemental acts” anyway ?
You would have us all be little yoga whimps I guess wouldn’t you ?
Acceptable and no offense taken. I was just highlighting that because he is a model he is not qualified to instruct yoga. I think he has some incredible flexablity and great intentions, but yoga instruction should be executed precisely and carefully. That was my basic critical focus.
Hey I can appreciate where you are coming from but even if you have been practicing under a well qualified teacher every day for two years you really know nothing (no offence meant)
I always say that after daily practice for 10 but more likely 15 years you will still realise that you know nothing.
This guy is a model showing a few yoga based exercises, for where he is at he does ok. Even his kapalabhati is ok but it’s plain to see he is very inexperienced and does not practice this regularly.
I claimed that his technique was sloppy – especially in the salute to the sun. Legs are not to be bent THEN placed on the floor and further, he skipped the intermediate/child’s pose which comes before the cobra. AND the way I do the salute to the sun flows from the platform to the upward facing dog to the downward facing dog. I have studied yoga for 2 years and I know technique. The way I was instructed introduced me to 15 styles of yoga – Hatha wa introduced separately as the common style.
Ok, just needed to confirm that you really don’t know what you are talking about.
So go do your homework, go and find out what Hatha Yoga actually is, rather than the bastardised version you suggest you have been introduced to and while you are at it, go and find out the true techniques of pranayama are you tried to comment on, better still, go practice pranayama every day without fail for 8 to 10 years and then you might actually know what you are talking about.
Hatha Yoga more specifically is a gentle, fluid style often referred to as classical yoga – being as you say that “all physical forms and styles of yoga fit under the umbrella of Hatha Yoga” it should be all the more important for the technique to be executed properly. No? The reference and training I have introduced Hatha Yoga to me as one practice, outside of this, there are 14 other yoga styles.
If you notice, his breath is shallow, only filling the upper abdominal area. The rest of his abdomen moves during the kapalabhati, but the breath is only being taken into the upper abdomen and chest. The breath should be inhaled from the chest to the pelvis, then forcefully exerted. The subsequent inhales should be silent as well.
Couple corrections. 1) The breathing technique is kapalabhati – it is a full breath into the abdomen, not a half breath. 2) In the sun salutation, you go from the bend into a lunge (no walking), then into a platform. Legs should remain straight and not bent. THEN your knees can go onto the floor. OR you may chaturanga (a semi push up in the platform) and go into the upward facing dog (skipping the cobra). His concept and majority are fine…just a couple errors-worth noting for correctness

are big fans of this type of yoga
Great, thanks
I love this mans voice.
At least hes cute!
You are the one who feels the need to engage me with your nonsensical banter, you can’t leave it alone can you ?
And that’s yoga strength in action is it ? Funny thing.
On the contrary, there are many many yoga whimps, no question about that and that is not just my view, it is a fact.

Hatha Yoga ?
But all physical forms and styles of yoga fit under the umbrella of Hatha Yoga.
Hatha Yoga
just physical positions and words without soul. Empty and Shallow
Interesting points you make, what do you base this on, a particular style of yoga ?

What do you mean “full breath into the abdomen” ?
Different to what he is doing ?
